Bhaktapur has a very ancient history, and it is one city whose heritage has remained intact, especially after the Germans started the Bhaktapur Development Project in 1975. Some portions of the market and localities of Bhaktapur Municipality seem to have been part of Tripura Rajkula, the Lichchhivi palace one and a half millennium ago. There are many palaces in Bhaktapur and some of the later palaces have remained intact, making them suitable locations for your shoot.
The city offers ponds, temples, art, courtyards, pottery, and festivals in Bhaktapur alongside the largest vegetable market in Nepal. Notably, Bhaktapur Municipality is controlled by a fringe party that believes in the North Korean system of governance known as Juche, making Bhaktapur truly unique.
