Posts of Dolpa

Dolpa is the largest district of Nepal and is home to the famous Shey Phoksundo National Park, which was featured in the famous Oscar-nominated documentary “Caravan”. Dho Tarap, located in Dolpa, is considered the highest-altitude human settlement in the world. Dolpa is renowned for producing the best quality caterpillar fungus, commonly known as Yarsa Gumba comes from Dolpa. The Shey-Phoksundo area is home to around 130 snow leopards, a significant number for this endangered species, but this has led to conflicts between human-wildlife.
