Posts of Humla

In 1393, Mideni Burma, the ruler of Jumla, gifted the Humla province to his son-in-law Baliraj Shahi. Historical accounts indicate that Humla paid taxes to both Tibet and Jumla.

Humla, being a border area, experienced a border conflict in 2020. If you are planning to make a documentary on this topic, we have an archive with the chronology of events leading to the conflict. Additionally, Humla serves as a major route for pilgrims traveling to Kailash Mansarovar, a significant Hindu religious destination. However, since Humal is the only district in Nepal not connected by roadways, people often use chartered helicopters to reach Simikot and from then proceed to Mansarovar in Tibet.
