Ilam has been synonymous with tea plantations since 1863. The Kanyam Tea Garden of Ilam is one of the most famous tea gardens in Nepal. Ilam, however, is not just limited to tea, it's also renowned for its high-grade ginger. An ingredient that is used in Nepali cuisine. In fact, Nepal is the third-largest producer of ginger in the world. At an altitude of 3,126 meters a wild tiger was sighted, marking the highest elevation of tiger sighting in Nepal.
