Mugu boasts the largest lake in Nepal, Rara Lake which is home to 224 kinds of plants, 272 types of birds, and 51 types of mammal species, including red pandas. You can also delve into the knowledge of Uwa, a type of barley cultivated by Mugumkamarong Rural Municipality, though its production is barely sufficient for three months, leading the locals to rely on Yarsa Gumba (caterpillar fungus) for additional income. Moreover, the community also collects Morel Mushroom (Morchella Escylenta), locally known as ‘guchchi’, which is the most expensive mushroom in the Himalayan region.
