Home to the famous Patari Pond, where it is believed that people who come and dip are blessed with babies. In Siraha, 766 houses were built for the Dom and the Musahar communities under the People’s Housing Scheme, which could be a story of what the government of Nepal is doing for the least privileged group of Nepal. The Dom and Musahar are known as low caste in Nepal to this day.
The district still follows the custom of paying 8 kg of paddy as a daily wage, which is an example of extreme exploitation.
