Posts of Mustang

Mustang in Tibetan, means “plain of desire” referring to its rich history and its 10,000 man-made caves that are older than 1000 years. In CE 1380, the Buddhist Kingdom of Lo was founded, and its last King, Dorje Palbar Bista was abolished in 2008 after Nepal was declared a republic.

You can visit the Chhairo refugee camp and learn more about 1960s CIA-trained Khampa revolutionaries. You can have a movie shoot or a golf shot at the world’s highest-altitude golf venue in Mustang. You can learn about a native breed of Lulu cows or more about the Uranium deposit in Mustang- there is already so much work already done in Mustang, but the place simply offers more stories.
