BNN VARA- “Op Reis”

Nepalaya Productions has worked several times with BNN Vara on different episodes on their “OP REIS” program. Our responsibilities included research, booking talent, location sourcing and all ground logisitics. 

Among episodes we worked on for Op Reiss was an episode highlighting the Living Goddess of Nepal “Kumari”. 

Kumari, a young girl appointed as a living goddess is an ancient Nepalese tradition, the episode offers a glimpse into the Kumari's personal experiences and provides a deeper understanding of the psychological impact of her role. 

The same episode also addressed the pressing issue of Chhaupadi, highlighting the challenges faced by women in Nepal who are subjected to this harmful practice of isolation during menstruation. 

By exploring both the Kumari tradition and the issue of Chhaupadi, the episodes aims to raise awareness about cultural complexities and social issues in Nepal.
