Bajura was historically part of the Jumla kingdom. The king of Jumla asked to be presented with a male eagle (Royal Baaz) from the area. However, only a female bird, ‘Jhurra Baaz’ was successfully captured. This incident led to the name ‘Bazurra Kot,’ which eventually evolved into Bajura.
