Posts of Bajura

Bajura was historically part of the Jumla kingdom. The king of Jumla asked to be presented with a male eagle (Royal Baaz) from the area. However, only a female bird, ‘Jhurra Baaz’ was successfully captured. This incident led to the name ‘Bazurra Kot,’ which eventually evolved into Bajura.

If you are working on a film focusing on poverty in Nepal, consider visiting Bajura, known as the poorest district in Nepal, with 64.1% of its population living below the poverty line. We have documented numerous stories highlighting the challenges and tragedies in Bajura and are prepared to assist you in this filmmaking endeavor.
